#1
Hi i am new to these forums so excuse my mistakes, i am splitting up with OH and iam thinking of coming to canada to drive longhaul so i am going down the pnp route, i have applied to YANKE in sasakatoon, just waiting to hear back. i will be on my own if i come i have been told by YANKE that they will pay for my flights hotel and accomodation, also my first driving test and they will pay me for the time iam in training so that sounds okay if it works that way, but i want to know do i have to have a certain amount of money to comeover with as its going to be tight by the time we have sorted eveything out. thanks for your time.

Hi and welcome to BE.
I would try looking in the truckers threads on here, to get some idea of haulage companies both good and bad........
As the previous poster suggests, try other companys don`t just rely on the first one who replies.
Grab a few beers and start researching the areas you are considering and search relevent companies within that Province - the more you know, the better your chances of finding that perfect trucking job?
Anyway, good luck with your venture, I hope it all works out for you...

Hi
I am also looking at various driving jobs. I strongly suggest that you look at the trucking forum, there is almost every question already answered for you. There are also some good guys (cheeky buggers at times) who are already over there and give that inside information you want.
I have also been offered an interview in Saskatoon but I am not resting there, I have basically emailed every haulage/trucking firm I could find (used the wiki on here for links and also google earth)
I have been offered a few interviews with different companies now so I am just taking it easy check each one out in depth and ask on here (trucking forum) for info on the companies.
As for the cash situation I am not sure of an appropriate figure but remember that when a company says it will pay you until your trained it wont be full pay! PM me if you want (I have rabbled on a bit here)
Cheers and good luck!

Just remembered something - There is a good guy called Praire Pete he worked for Yanke, has been out there in Saskatoon for a couple of years. You should give him a call, again check out the trucking forum he is on there every other week.
