How long it takes to get visitor visa for Canada? Is it ok to look for job, when you are in Canada with visitor visa and PR processing on?

Hi:

Visitor visas generally take 4 to 6 weeks to process.

Although you can seek employment while you are in Canada under a visitor's visa, you
can not actually work until you obtain your Canadian permanent residency, or in the
interim obtain an employment authorization.

It is not correct. In many visa posts visitor visas are being processed the same day
- you apply in the morning and come for answer in the afternoon. But there are also
visa posts where visitor visa applications may take few days to process. Also in some
cases and under certain circumstances processing may take much longer (several
weeks), especially if medicals are required.
