simple answer:

REALLY REALLY depends.

on number of factors.

1)your countries of residences (or ever resided)

2)the visa post you applying from

4)the category u applying in

5)whether u get interview waiver or not.

6)how long your background checks take.

7)if everything goes accordingly to plan.. without any document being lost in transit, without u making any error on application etc etc..

typically, now people, pros, exprts.. please dont hold me to this...

IT can be anywhere from 9 months to 4-5 yrs though most under skilled category with interview waiver end up getting it from 1.5 yrs to 2.5 yrs. the variable is becos of the different times taken for police checks in diff countries.
In US, its pretty simple.. FBI has records and everything online and info is at the click of a button.

In some other countries, it may take longer due to the lack of information availability at the click of a button.

Thumbs up

Re. Previous
Thanks for the information. It is going to take a lot longer than I anticipated. I had 89 points (without a job offer) so I suspect it going to takea long, long time. I thought getting a job offer would speed this up a bit.

Oh Humph, off to New Zealand then.
Many thanks ,
Gary
