how hard to get work visa
Hi
I work for in Coca-Cola in the UK I applied, and got offered job with Coke in Brampton Ontario, HR has been all around world to come back and tell me that there is no relocation, no problem !!! I applied for my work visa last week filled forms in no problem, then I got an email from immigration lawers saying there could be an issue as I am not a senior manager I could not go as Intra -company transferee and that I would have to go as a specialist in a certain field, just wanted to know if anyone has transferred with company how they did it or is lawer just painting a black picture but not wanting to guarantee visa, dont want to apply and pay £500 to be told no. Any advice greatly appreciated
cheers

Others will advise specifically I hope, but I would guess that it is simply - to put it bluntly - that transfer program has to be robust and based on seniority and/or commercial/industrial/technical specialty because otherwise, every Tom Dick and Harriet could be accomodated via that program, ie. people who may otherwise fall well short of skilled worker program in terms of their skills, experience and what they have to offer Canada. I am assuming program exists as way of nabbing foreign execs and highly skilled specialists and enhance Canadian businesses this way. Program will likely have considerable oversight and quality control in place - hence hassles/worries.
Lawyers and recruiters will either need to be a little creative with your resume and skillset or else you will walk it no problem ?

Isn't the employer paying for the visa fee plus lawyer?
You should really be discussing this with the lawyer, at the same time you have to talk about how to get permanent residence (PR) as without that, you'll have to go home someday.
