If you are on a limited timeframe, better to fly, takes about 6 hours IIRC, but its not cheap.
Train is probably as expensive, if not more so than flying, and takes several days, as will taking the greyhound...but at least on the train you can get up and stretch your legs. There must be a reason why most folks in Ontario planing on taking the scenic train trip through the rockies, choose to fly to Edmonton or Calgary, and take the train from there.

I did Calgary to Detroit, then on to Niagra Falls, back to Detroit and then back to Calgary again. Travelled to Detroit through the US, and back to Calgary through Canada.
It is quite a monotonous journey. Travelling through the US was much faster until I decided to go through the Upper Peninsula of Michigan instead of south through Chicago. The Michigan UP is kinda...undeveloped, and was slow going.
Coming back through Canada was laborious. It was very beautiful travelling along the trans-Canada in Ontario. Some incredible, postcard scenery as you wind along the north shore of Lake Superior. But it was slow slow slow going. Once into Manitoba things really pick up. You're onto straight highway and the speed limit is higher. But from then on it's prairie all the way. I like driving over the prairie in summer with the window down. It's soothing. But if 20-odd hours on a straight road over a prairie would bore you, then you'd be in hell.
I also did North Carolina to Calgary (one way) which took me a week. It was all right though. I took in Mount Rushmore and the site of Custor's last stand and cross the Mississippi on the way. It was a great trip. My favourite city on the way was Iowa city.

Cant you check the map, Well anyway for short, no train service, limited bus service if you like sitting on one for 4 days, expensive airfares min £150 each way and driving well, unless your a long haul trucker you wont enjoy that very much, in in my opinion I would just go to Toronto instead.
