On the other hand, the OH's industry is hopeless.
I read a while back that official stats showed approx 70% of workers in and around Vancouver drove to work. Looking at the congestions during rush hour on the news of a morning i can see that.

I work from home and my wife walks downtown so we're good

No country is totally clean i would have thought, but Canada does at least try, cars are smaller these days, recycling bins are rife, Hydro power, and Atomic power are popular, and we have the drive clean test for vehicles every two years here in Ontario, some may say a waste of time & money, but, it does weed out any bad polluting vehicles from the highways and byways.

So apart from the Asbestose mine in Quebec , Albertan Oil sands, Saskatchewan uranium mines, The diamond mines up in the territories and the Halifax tar pits, and as long as we don't count the forest clear cutting that could be considered to be using up carbon we look pretty good compared to China…..

How far away is that nuclear plant to Ajax? And the truck plant in Oshawa churning out 5l V8 trucks...

I suppose environmentally speaking nuclear is a good thing.. no CO2

The town of Fort McMurray has banned all shops from giving out plastic bags, "to protect the environment".

Perfect metaphor for Canadian mentality really... polish a turd, then feel smug because some league tables confirm that Canada is fuller of shiny shit than anywhere else in the world.

In the short term yes, nuclear, (new-clear) is cool, dishing out nothing but steam. And that Oshawa plant makes some very lovely looking green, yellow, red and silver motor cars, who can complain about that.

Exactly, try telling Top Gear that that car is bad for the environment. It looks nice, therefore it is a nice car.

Ohh and two people is ok, good enough for HOV lanes, that makes it enviro friendly ehh....
