Default How do you manage UK/CAN finances?

Has anyone found a quick online way of keeping track of UK and CANADIAN finances (e.g. bank accounts, reconciling spending, budgets etc).

In Canada people use MINT.com which seems to make keeping track of spending easier, than say using budgeting software like Quicken. I don't think Mint.com links to UK banks accounts however.

Has anyone found anything (software on your PC or something online) which lets them manage both UK and Canadian accounts in one place?

I'm keen to hear what other people do, but here's what I do (a bit old-fashioned):
- barclays mobile banking app for UK accounts
- nothing for Canadian account
- Excel spreadsheet for my work-related incomings and outgoings
- Excel spreadsheet for personal outgoings, including bills

I have mint on my phone, but just didn't like the idea of putting in all my bank details.

What are you trying to achieve? Would something like Money achieve this?

Almost Cdn - Maybe. Can MS Money download transactions from both UK and Cdn bank accounts? I've tended to find with software that they only link with banks in the country where you buy that version of the software.

The problem is keeping up with entering receipts and reconciling. Old versions of Quicken are all manual and slow going (and boring!). Something like Mint (security-issue I agree...) is more "connected" a lot more intuitive and quicker.

How does everyone else do it?

I used Money in the UK from the days when I didn't do online banking. It came bundled with one of the computers I had. Fast forward a decade or so, and when I purchased a new laptop, the old Money software simply wouldn't run. It became apparent that MS were no longer selling Money but were now offering it free. I am sure there are better programs out there, but why not give this a go and, if it doesn't do what you want it to, uninstall it.

Here is a link: MS Money download

I'm running windows 7 and office 2010 and money works OK for me. I can dowload money files from TD and FD with no issues. As AC says; if you don't like it, uninstall it. I am sure that there are better ones out there too!

Spend as little as possible and hope there is something left next payday. That's my method.
