How do you handle Halloween?
We're hiding in the basement with the upstairs lights turned off ... and no, our kids didn't get to go out either.

40 doorbell rings later and I had to go back and buy more.
Think the little sods have a network telling them "Bloke at No. 5 has good sweets".
All home in bed now (1am) except the over 12's who are out egging old peoples houses, police cars and anyone who twitches a curtain.

I love carrolling, in a big group (Probably from the church) on 23rd December
and collecting for a charity. Most of the kids around here use the money for Evo-Stik or Alcohol.

You really have to embrace it, its a big deal in Canada for whatever reason. We had great fun carving jackel lanterns and putting up decorations. But we do draw the line at the bigger kids though, older teenagers should probably have given up trick or treating several years ago. We had the lights off around 9ish.
On a more practical note hiding in the basement probably isnt fooling anyone, it just draws the wrong sort of attention?

I get stuck in deck out the house and get candies ..love this time of year, so much better then in Leicester (UK ) ..where kids would not dress up , knock on your door and expect money. I'll try and post pics too .
