Default How do they process?

How do the embassy in London process applications?

I received my AOR in Aug 2004 indicating an 18 month wait. Did they then throw my application onto a pile to be looked at in the near future from now?

I am concerned because i was borderline on points. So if I wait until spring next year to hear a 'no' cos i didn't have enough points i would feel bitterly disappointed.

My question is i suppose that in the preliminary assessment of your application, do they tally up the points and reject there and then? Also, if they were to reject me on these grounds, then i assume that i would not receive medical requests...anybody know when i'm due to hear?

Thanks

I am certainly no expert on this, and I may infact be wrong, but I was always under the belief that when your file is received by CHC all they do is check to see that you have completed and returned the necessary forms. I don't think they check for points other than look at your Point Total on the form you send to them.

I am fairly certain that they do not go through your entire Application to make sure you have sent ALL the necessary accompanying documents, as we were contaced at the 11 month stage asking for some other documents which were not originally asked for in our Category. I believe, from our experience, that it is at this stage that you would know whether you have enough points or not.

If you post this query on the Immigration forum you may have more luck with finding an expert who may have the answers for you.

Unfortunately...They tend to stick to what is on your AOR...soo they check first of all that your application has been submitted properly and hopefully at the 18 month stage they will work on it in earnest...If any additional info is required it will be put in the pile until it is received...I must admit that they try their best..but if you are slow sending the info back to them...well there are thousands of applications to work through, therefore if you know that you may need something updating...do it as near to your 18 month point as possible...things to consider may be an updated police clearance cert...renewing your passport and things.

You are right to be concerned as they will not let you know if youre good to go or rejected until this 18 month lapses...If you know the area which you may be boarderline try now to rectify if possible.

Anyway...good luck with your application I'm sure you'll be fine.
