Hi folks,
Okay first sniff of a job now i'm in Edmonton properly ( much easier now I'm here, at least in IT).
The job is a contract position and although it appears they are quite eager to have me the, the agent doesn't speak very good english so i'm having a few issues with working out what I need to do.
My concerns are:
- Incorporating, he mentioned this being important. I guess this is like setting up a plc and running through that. Anyone have any experience with these and/or a know a good person who can help set this up?
- What rights do I have as a contractor? I know in the uk you have more but in Canada can they just terminate at any time? Can I terminate at any time too?
- This contract appears to require some 24 / 7 rota work. Not keen on that ( i'm getting too old to be woken up at 3 am
) Anyone know the best angle to approach getting out of it or even if such contracts are negotiable in Canada?
Thanks in advance
Oli

None.
They can and you could in law but you likely don't want to burn that bridge by doing so.
