Hi all as the above question says. How cold is cold?

It is currently -3 degrees C in York/Selby (North Yorkshire) where i am and has just been snowing overnight. I know it has been snowing in NS recently and wondered if the temperatures are as cold there, as it is here?

Just out of curiosity.

It's mild now but it was cold last week. Last week it was -11c in the morning and I heard mentioned that it had been -18c in the Truro area.

Thing is (and this may just be me...) but don't you think when you have 5 degree temps here it is different to 5 degrees in the UK? It just doesn't feel as cold? It is like when it rains here, it isn't the soak you to the skin, feel cold and damp for a week rain.

I may just be going mental - in which case - excuse me!

I just caught a few minutes of the Burnley/Arsenal Carling Cup game on the TV and it looked quite cold at Burnley with some snow at the side of the field.

I wouldn't read too much into the reported temperatures here. The "feels like" temperatures can vary from anything like -10 to +10 C over what the reported temperature is, for example wind chill makes it "feel" a lot colder and humidity can make it feel a lot warmer.

I've been outside on -15c days with no wind and it didn't feel all that bad, then some other days with temperatures around 0c but damp or windy conditions and it feels much colder

www.theweathernetwork.com gives a good report stating the actual temp AND the "feels like" temp.

Thanks all. I do not mind snow or rain, as much as the wind. I cannot stand it when is blowing a gale, as my ears get cold!!! and i get headache then, which is not nice. I know this is going to raise a lot of comments, so i wont elaborate.

Hi Chumley, i have just got everything, i think, notarised that needs doing and am just about to put paperwork in to Halifax PNP office. I hope PNP office will accept photocopies that i have taken of notarised documents, as the notary only did one copy of everything? and i need two copies, one for PNP and one for CIC.

I am still having huge wobbles and doubts, but I know I can do this, I just need to take it one day at a time and not panic and let the fear get to me, which is what I have been doing. I know I am not on my own in this feeling, which helps a lot and I know everyone on here will be there to talk to when I move over and get bad days, which i am sure will definitely happen!! but I am going to take the chance and see where it leads me, as I know if I don't I will always wonder and possibly kick myself.

I just hope they accept me now, as if they don't i will have to wait and see if the Skilled worker route comes up trumps.

Thanks Emmjay

emm I think you will find that its halifax who need the actual notorised copies and not CHC

chc dont need anything notorising

give them a call in Halifax they will put you right on this one

we sent the actual notorised copies to Haliafax and will be sending copis of the notorised docs to CHC eg the other way around to what you are planning

huge luck and let us know ow you progress

I am eagerly awaiting my PNP should be this week
in which case well under 2 months as they completed processing it last Wednesday!!! so get that application in its not impossible that you could be llooking at med requests by end feb begiining march you know if nikkis timetable is anything to go by
