Yeah, but that's costing it against a UK salary. It kinda puts it into higher net income bracket in Canada... for us to base it on a future $ income, hey man I'll look at the neighbours

Payback times are much longer in Canada because the electricity is so much cheaper. I just checked for my old home in Hertfordshire, and if I applied to Southern Electric for a standard supply they would charge me 18.8 pence /kwh. In comparison, BC Hydro's rate after the latest increase is 7.0 cents /kwh. About a fifth of the UK cost.
