Hi Folks,
Been a while since my last post and I hope everyone is doing as well as they can in the present circumstances and keeping well and healthy:-)
Our plans to move a taking shape and most of the ducks are lining up quite nicely to ensure we can touch down later this summer. I'd like to know from your collective experiences of moving across if any cost effective storage options are available for household effect that accompany you. I have a quote from the shipping company for our slice of a container and they also have provided a cost to store the items until we need them coming in at circa $100/month. And whilst this seems reasonable to me I just thought I would ask the forum if there are any other potential options however novel they may be?
The stuff will probably stay in storage until we find permanent accommodation (i.e home) so could be potentially more than a year.
Thanks in advance

$100 per month seems reasonable, depending on how much stuff they are storing. We stored our entire house worth of stuff while between properties - a full 40 ft shipping container and it was $500 per month. One thing you might want to consider is if the storage is temperature controlled, the effects of extreme heat and extreme cold over a full year (thinking condensation type issues for example) on an uncontrolled unit could be bad.

Don't forget these goods will have to be cleared by Customs before they can enter a private storage facility unless that facility also serves as a sufferance warehouse for Customs purposes.
