Hi all,
I know that a few of us are in the same boat in that we're waiting to sell our house. We have everything in place to move, job medicals etc and hve had our house on the market since September but can't sell despite reducing our price.
I want to ask has anyone gone multi agency and has it helped?
The only thing is instead of 1% comission we would have to pay 3%, is it worth it? I would appreciate peoples thoughts on this, as I'm feeling a little fed up.
Thanks all
Terese

Tell them you'll pay them 1% and you'll go multi-agency. If they don't like it, then tough, someone else will get your business. They'll soon come round to your way of thinking.

You are so right they've done nothing for their commission, an advert in the paper every 3 weeks isn't worth the thousands we would have to pay

What I mean is, I imagine that your would probably have 2 signs in the same place, 2 adverts in the same paper, 2 listings on Right Move or similar.
Would more people actually see it?
If people are seriously looking they will get the local paper and look on the web. They will find your house anyway so why pay more.
And another thing re the comment from Bazzz. Always haggle over the price. I am only paying 0.75% + an advertising budget thrown in after bartering down from 1.25% + advertising. I hope to get a bit more knocked off for cash at the end (if you are a tax-man don't read the last bit).
Good luck

no kidding. It's surprising how difficult it is to not let your emotions get in the way.
