Default hotels

hi all

we are taking our first trip to NS soon, and was wondering if any of you guys could point us in the right direction of any reasonable hotels, around the halifax area.

we want something central as we will be looking at areas to move to schools etc, and im sure someone out there has had some good experience

or maybe a reasonable holiday home for a week

anythoughts ???

We're not in Canada, Yet, but we always look on 'Trip Advisor' and 'Hotels.com' for the hotels we need. They have quite a lot of customer reviews and a few with candid customer photographs, that tend to show the lesser seen parts of the hotel. We went to Calgary last October using this system, and were more than happy with the hotels we chose thanx to the customer ratings.

As the Hampsons have just mentioned we to also always check up on Tripadvisor and generally book through opodo as this is where the best deals are achieved.

We have just come back from a trip and stayed for a couple of nights in the cambridge suites right in Halifax which was a nice hotel and then we had 3 nights in the comfort inn in dartmouth, very basic, cheap and clean. We found this a better spot as we where looking around Dartmouth, Bedford and Falls River ares and they where all easy to get to from there.
