Hotel recommendations Vancouver
Hi,
I'm just looking for personal recommendations for hotels in and around vancouver for a two week stay in January.
We'd like to stay downtown for a while and would also like to stay in North Van if possible, and be able to get public transport to the ski hills - Seymour / Grouse.
Thanks in advance...

We stayed here three years ago, and got a massive corner room at a really reasonable rate:

It is downtown and rooms were very clean and heaps of places to eat nearby.

We always used to stay at Lonsdale Quay Hotel nothing really special, just a special location; waterfront, close to stores/eats/drinks and right by Seabus for a downtown hop.

We stayed here and found it to be a very good location. Close to main shopping area (Robson Street) and art gallery.
Before we picked up the car we got the seabus to North Van and a bus from seabus terminal direct to Grouse Mountain - very easy, pleasant and quick journey.
Staff at hotel were great, good restaurant, pool, reasonable prices. Underground car parking.
We also stayed further downtown but it was a bit too far out without car (near Granville Island).

The new hotel will be a while in coming and is going to be expensive I should think.
Warmly,

I agree, the Blue Horizon is a very good, clean, friendly staff hotel, in the middle of everything....and most of all quiet. I stayed here several times and i would recommend it for sure.
