Horse Riding Road Safety in SK
Can anyone help me with this? I am trying to find the rules for riding horses down the road in SK. I cannot find anything in the HTC, it only states animals excluding horses being ridden. Is there no equestrian highway safety code? MB has one, a very detailed one.
I am a horse trainer in a very small town and have been approached to write an article for the local newspaper on horse riders and traffic. I am struggling to find much information, statics or any useful information at all. Am I just looking in the wrong places?
I have emailed the Sask Horse Federation about this but heard nothing back as of yet.
Has anyone come across any incidents or collisions involving horse riders and vehicles?
I would be so interested to hear about them.

I don't think I can help much regarding SK specifically.
The trouble I find in Canada is that everything is provincial and not much applies the Canada as a whole.
The only thing I could find is on Equine Canada. It only specifies a few provinces in the road safety section. And SK wasn't among them.
Road safety
The horse world is very different here I find.

It does specify on that page "If you can't find your province on the list, please refer to Equine Canada's document" This implies if no provincial rules then those in the "Equine Canada's road safety document for equestrian", would apply. The link to that is the first line after "ROAD SAFETY"

Have you had a look at the Sask Horse Federation webs site? Not sure if there is anything but might be a place to start.
