First day was tough for all of them, everyone was catching up with old mates they hadn't seen over the summer so no one was interested in new kids.

Second day they were noticed as new english kids and got to know a few people in their classes and came home alot more positive (thankfully).

My 15 year old was fine untill the reality kicked in that this is it, not a holiday so maybe watchout when the holiday period ends a couple of months in.

He now after months of insisting he is going back to UK to uni, has now turned around and is planing to go to a canadian university. He does still spend hours talking on msn to his old mates but has lots of new ones as well.
Hopefully your son will be fine but as others with similar aged boys on this forum have noted be prepared for some ups and downs.

My 18 yr old daughter just turned up at the school to enrol for the last year with her permanent residency card. She graduated a few weeks ago and now holds Uk and Canadian qualifications so can go to Uni in UK or Canada. She choose to come to Canada after spending a year back in the UK. She loves it here and sees more opportunities for her age in NS.

Hi Tilly.
Thank goodness your kids are on track now. Can I ask where you are at the minute and what you think of the education over there and how did your kids find the transition from UK to Canada. I am expecting the ups and downs I hope more ups than downs mind.
The advantage I have is my kids are very well travelled and have lived up and down Europe in the UK and now here in New Zealand.
My husband is in the Military so although they have friends, they are well used to getting up and making new ones. They have had to be social kids.

This is the last move though, I have had enough:blink:
