Hi,
I would like to say that I have read a few comments of negativity concerning french canadians, I have found them to be foremost a canadian first before being french, most are like the rest of canada true canadians with a bit of french style, my husband most certainly believes himself canadian first..

Hi,
Many thanks for your warm welcome, it is nice to know there are alot other brits out there, sometimes I do feel alone here in Quebec, but in saying that, I don't want to gravitate to an english speaking community which there are here in Quebec City...although I feel like it sometimes, but my french canadian husband does like to encourage some of my british habits, in my cooking and the way we do christmas differently or things like that

concerning french canadians that will switch to english in a conversation to accomodate but then willfully carry on in french after a few minutes, I thought that sounded a bit negative that was all, but I have read so many posts old and new this could be ages ago
I am more than happy to be here among some other brits, as I am around the quebeckers
I understand a lot of french mostly in reading but the conversation goes over my head most of the time
I have a real difficulty to speak french too, sometimes I really hate myself:curse:
