Hi Dean and Glen and welcome to the BE mad house.
I also haven't a clue what you are doing! :D
Well, you have come to the right place to work it out.;)
Read the Wikki and search previous threads/posts - you'll be amazed how much brilliant info there is here.
Once you've read all the info you can find, read it again.
If you are having trouble finding some info, ask away - we're a mostly friendly bunch who are here to help and support each other, and to have a laugh along the way.

Best of luck
Rob.

Hi I've just joined the forum hoping that someone can help me too!! It's daunting isn't it but hopefully it will be worth it. My friend went out to Nova Scotia in November and she's loving it, but is missing her family. I think that maybe the only thing that could eventually keep me in England!! What job have you got?

Hello Crackers and welcome to BE.
I'm sure you are not beyond help, and there will be someone who will be able to help you I'm sure.;)
Why not start off with reading the Wikki and searching the past threads/posts for a general intro to moving to Canada and more specific info relating to you and your possible choice of destination.

BE is a mine of information, as well as being a place to find sympathy, support and a good laff!

Hello oh ye large extended family.

Welcome to our humble abode. We hope you find yourself right at home.

I am trying to get the mods to start a new section in the Canada lifestyle page which show exactly which members live in/or are going to which town and Province.

It would mean that you could have clicked on Alberta and then immediately seen a list of people in Lethbridge etc etc.

I have a Poll running in the Canada forum so perhaps if you think this would have been beneficial to you as a newcomer, you could vote in it and explain why. (Talk about touting for votes:eek:)

Ta, Alison.

Dean has been offered a job in Lethbridge, but, after reading some of the replies on this site, we're having a few misgivings. We know the cost of living there is relatively high and now we're concerned, with the amount of kids, dogs etc coming with us, that we will actually be able to afford to live there. So, we're keeping our options open at present and looking at other companies and provinces but could do with other opinions pls.

Hi Wigsey et al - my OH is in Saskatchewan at the moment doing orientation at Yanke as a long haul trucker :D. There are only 2 of us going and a little dog to follow, we think Sask is cheaper to live in that other provinces and intend to live outside of the city so hope cost of property etc will be cheaper.

I don't have any figures at the moment but will keep in touch and let you know the basics if you want me to.

Best of luck in your search and please please do your research thoroughly but also do what's best for you.

Lorna
