Hello All,
I've been lurking around the forum for an age now and thought it was about time I said hello and started contributing!
I work in IT (Business Analyst) and my wife is a Psychiatric Nurse (RMN - old style qualification). We have 2 boys - one is 2 yrs old and the other 2 months.
We are planning to go to Calgary and submitted our SW application last September - AOR October. We hate the thought of waiting another 4 years so are currently looking at the work permit options...slow going for us IT folk though!
Bye for now.
Darren

Good luck with your job search, and while you do enjoy some laughs here with us friendly BE folk, and learn a bit more about Canada into the bargain.

Have you though of getting your work permit, on your OH RMN qualification. Go and look up for Calgary hospital for jobs in your OH area. If she finds a job you could be over in Canada in 6 months. Canada needs nurses.

We had initially wanted to get me a job, but after 8 months without any success we are starting to think seriously about the nursing option. Will be a shift from part time for my OH but if we want to move sooner rather than later it is probably the compromise required. Also means I get to be a stay at home Dad for a while. Ooh, I quite like the sound of that
