30-40% eventually return from all over the world..not those who are returning in the next 12 months...otherwise there would be an influx of some 2 million expats arriving in the next year.

Over the nearly 6 years that I have lived in this area, I would say I have met probably 80% of immigrants from the UK in the area. Most have come here to drive trucks and that is, as it happens, my work. So having been one of the earliest in the recent wave of immigrants, I have had several live in my basement for varying lengths of time. I know who is around and who is not.

Almost without exception, it was the walking disasters that went back and used my home as a staging post prior to departure.

I have 2 expats living here now. Now I do not care for statistics you find online. For every percentage you find telling me that 40% return, I can almost certainly find statistics that will tell you the migration into Canada or elsewhere is in the millions per month. Don't go by statistics, go by what you have seen for yourself.

It really boils my wee wee when people come online pooh poohing Canada when many of them live here themselves, and live happily and well.

Go for it if it is what you really want. Keep your eyes open, wait for your residency and take stock then. But pay little heed to the stat merchants. They always try to scare others off for some reason, same as those who only have the golden penny in mind.

I've never witnessed gun crime or a person enjoying meth. Also out of a small number of Brits i know who live in Vancouver and surroundings, none of them have moved back to the UK. Therefore the statistics are clearly incorrect :thumbup:
