Default Heres a question for u re visas!!

Hi all

Assistance required on this one please !

We are 99% certain to be applying for PR for Canada with kids 17 9 and 6. However son aged 17 isnt too keen to come as he is in love !! (werent we all !!)

However he has now had a bit of a change of mind in that if he comes out to validate visa etc and then he has to spend 2 years out of next 5 in Canada ( does this have to be continuous or can it be spread over 5 years ) he would be willing to do that if his g/friend can come out for the 2 years etc.

As they are both studying and planning to go to uni next year how can she apply for visa and what sort of visa - i guess that we cant apply on her behalf - so i presume its a temporary working visa that she will need

Can anyone help to clarify this for me?

Many thanks

Martin

It can be spread out, but make sure you have documentation to back up the dates....airline tickets etc.

Could try looking at BUNAC program, ideal for students who want to see canada. This would be good for a year, then later as a visitor she could come for 6 months typically at a time, although this is at the discression of the immigration officer at the airport

Work visa is v. hard to come by, you need a validated job offer which basically says noone in canada can do the job.

Good Luck

One other thing to note, when the time comes for you guys to apply for citizenship ( if you wish ), your son will be 18 by then, and he will have to apply and take the test as an adult, all the other kids will just qualify once you parents become citizens.

Things we do for love sometimes eh !
