Re: Henry vacuum cleaner
Bristol: yes the little ones are sweet, but won't clean the house :(
Danny: ha ha very funny :lol: Let's see if I can track one down or haggle with the North Van store. Do you think it's worth asking if they'll take the tax off? Does anyone ever haggle like this and get a result?! S |

S When I bought beds, sofas, table & chairs, washer/dryer from Leons, my realtor (who gave us a lift on completion day) negotiated free delivery. (looks like such an order might be free delivery now anyway :unsure:) Some places have "we pay the tax" days. |

@Snowy
I was very glad you posted that link. I have been looking for a 'spare' laptop to meet a variety of needs and there was one on that site for such a ridiculously low price it looks like a serious mistake. It's newer than my current one, the same specs except the processor is vastly superior to mine. £69 and delivery is £20. Additional tax (if charged) should be around $15. Maybe there's a certain risk in the event I need to return it, but not really more than had I ordered it from Canada and certainly not more than a refurbished model with a short warranty or even a used one with no warranty, both of which would have cost a whole lot more as well. The nearest comparable unused laptop in current Best Buy sales is five times the price and the closest refurb I can see on Staples is nearly three times as much as my "all in" $$ price. :thumbsup: |
Re: Henry vacuum cleaner
Bristol @ post #18 on that laptop
After checking, all is not what it appears too me, to be corrected by Bristol on the numbers & the deal. Sent you a PM, maybe recheck & let us know when you get the LT what the final landed price was with duty & taxes. Only issue that I would have is 'no warranty', likely that it may arrive DOA or when it needed service. For $30 - $40 or so 'net net' difference buying that shoppers $249+tax deal, after 20x bonus points worth ~$85 - for me, taking everything into consideration when buying electronic gadgets - I would purchase them in Canada |
Re: Henry vacuum cleaner
What I'd say to you about that site is that they have not been very good about responding to my queries or very on the ball. Email link didn't work. However, when I put Henry in my shopping basket and went through the check out procedure without actually checking out (to see the price), they did get in touch and I managed to get a dialogue going. So just to warn you.

Typical warranty on a refurb at this price range seems to be 30-90 days on those I've looked at over the last couple of months and as per other post, no warranty on a used one. The only 'risk' as such is where it works and then stops working and for me to get a "more effective" warranty would involve a much lesser laptop or paying an awful lot more. Re: Henry vacuum cleaner
Company is now telling me I need a "step down adaptor" to use Henry in Canada. Is this right even if I were to buy a 110V model?

We'll see how it goes but I can't imagine it'll be any worse an experience than the inferior refurbished one I got for my stepson that cost more or the near useless one I had bought previously for me. |

Re: Henry vacuum cleaner
I loved my Henry :cry_smile:
Couldn't find one here in NZ so I have a moody electrolux now that doesn't like its hose pulled. :unsure: |
Re: Henry vacuum cleaner
They're great for someone like me who doesn't like fussy appliances. The retractable cord is great.
