Default Help with where to emmigrate

Just doing some research on where to move to and Ontario or BC seem like good options. I hear the climate there is milder to that of other areas. Although used to the cold here in the UK we would like to be guaranteed a good summer. Would love to hear from anyone who has emmigrated from the UK to either of these places and how to go about finding work, what the lifestyle is like, property prices, culture compared to the UK. My husband and I will hopefully be applying for permanent residency through the skilled worker route but we are obviously keen to job search and get a visit out there first as we have never been.

Thanks
Kara

What do you consider mild? Parts of BC may not see frost, others get to 40 below.

I wouldn't call Ontario winters mild and the cold in the UK does not compare to the cold here. The summers are much hotter though. hot and humid.

Where you can get a job would pretty much drive where you end up living.

This morning in Ontario it was 37/3.5 degrees, and it's barely Autumn. "Mild" isn't something that happens here.

3 degrees this morning, heading for about 20 by lunchtime. With a clear blue sky and no wind. An absolutely cracking day. I love September.

I don't think BC has September.

Well you are making it very difficult for us to decide!! On the visa application you have to state where you want to live, do you know if it would make a difference if we ended up getting a job in a different location to the one we put down.

By the way how long have you guys been living in canada?

Other than with Quebec, you can put what city you like and then end up somewhere completely different (for PR).

We are finding it really hard to decide where we want to go in Canada too, it is such a vast country.
We are doing a reccie in February, looking at Alberta, Saskachewan and Manitoba.
Can anyone recommend any smaller towns in any of the above that may be worth looking at.
We would need somewhere that may have employment in Car Mechanics, Plumbing and Childcare.
We like the sound of Nova Scotia and New Brunswick too and would be grateful for any comments on these as well.
Thanks
