Has anybody had trouble getting their NVQs recognised? We have had our application returned as it seems that WES think that my husbands NVQ Levels 2,3,4 & 6 are the equivalent to secondary education! I understand that we can appeal against this but how likely are we to get this overturned? My husband works in construction if that helps? We are a little stressed to say the least!

NVQs are generally not recognized in Canada.

Agree with post 2, however does your husband have a trade qualification/certificate, something such as City & Guilds 'Bricklayer' as an example - or another trade such as a 'Carpenter'?

There is no direct apple-for-apple for NVQ, except that he appears that he has a trade qualification?
He can always come to Canada & sit the (red seal) provincial trade exam like many have done.

Depending on the trade, entry level can vary from a grade 10 to a grade 12 high school academics. A trade is a vocational qualification.

Grade 10 is approx level GCSE, so if you add a trade qualification may be accepted or recognized as an academic grade 12 with the vocational applied skill, depending on who is assessing it, or what the evaluation is used for.
