Thumbs up help! a starting point?

Hi guys...new to this, so bear with me. I am planning to marry my Canadian lady sometime in the not too distant future. The date being determined by immigration factors. I have become completely bamboozled by the amount of info and websites relating to moving to Canada. So, does anybody have a list or know a site which will clearly lay out what I need to to do, how soon, in what order and how long it will take (given the intention to marry)?
We will live in Quebec province and I know that they have some sort of sponsorship scheme which in effect means you can be 'adopted' by a family there.
I have looked at the Canadian immigration site....is that the best I can do?

Thankyou in advance.

1. Since www.cic.gc.ca is the offical site for Canadian Immigration, it ain't gonna get much better.
2. The intention to marry is not good enough, there is no longer any financee category. To be sponsored you have to be either married or c/law, in that you have lived together as a recognized couple for 1 year.
3. Your lady, once you meet the definition of either married or c/law will have to submit a sponsorship, one extra step for Quebec is that a CSQ will have to be obtained.
4. Start http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/applications/famcls.html
5. You should post your questions on the Immigration forum.

Hello there!
I sympathize with you as the information available about getting your pr for quebec is even more confusing than that for the rest of Canada.

I think there may some financial requirements to meet for the Quebec pr status so which aren't required for the rest of Canada. Rest assured though that you can live in Quebec if you get the Canadian pr...

My husband applied for pr status for the rest of Canada, landed in Ottawa and 45 minutes later was living in Quebec. If you are bilingual....great...but if not...you will have difficulty finding people at Quebec Immigration to speak English.
