Hi all,
We are now starting to research companies to ship our belongings to Vancouver.
All our stuff is currently sitting in storage ready to go, we hoping to ship around August/September this year. I'd say we are shipping roughly the content of a one bed flat (minus white goods).
We would really appreciate any advice on shipping companies, costs and where is best for our shipment to land?
Also, are going to land while our belongings are on route. We’re only going to stay for a week as we decided to do some travelling first. Which means that we will need our shipment to be stored until we arrive back in Vancouver? Has anyone done this before?
Thanks for your help.

Hi
We have just gone thro' the process of getting quotes, Devon to Vancouver, we opted on big firms for safety & security of move, The two finalists for us are bishops move or allied pickfords, both within £100 of each other.
They both suggested storing at vancouver end, as it is apparently cheaper, a 20' container was about 4.5K, they pack, do paperwork, unpack, etc, and one offered 4 weeks free storage in the UK, so we are just deciding now which one, watch out for how many days the shipping quote lasts for.
Cheers

Hello
I'm in BC, my stuff from the UK has just arrived. My local removal company send my stuff via Anglopacific and the company who receive your good is Bekins International. We Paid £690 for 25 items, 22 boxes 2 flat pack wardrobes and a bike, this includes delivery to residence on aarrivaland customs clearance. Make sure you get a list of your goods stamped on arrival at the airport this will enable the shipping company to clear your goods duty free.
Although my local removal companyhad my boxes since March and we only just got them end jJune Ship was missed twice as it was full.
Good Luck

We had to have our stuff stored in Vancouver as it arrived too quickly!!
Williams movers looked after everything this side & were really helpful, they stored our stuff for approx 10 weeks, then delivered it promptly with one small breakage, the cost was roughly 400CDN

Check out this site (ship schedule.com) you will get an idea of the actual carriers who are responsible for the cargo on/off ship, they may be able to help or have link's on their sites. When you have sent your boxes here is another site to track your goods (must have container No/bill of loading no)www.maerskline.com, it will state exact location of your goods on each part of its journey. You may be cheaper just asking UK removals just to ship to Vancouver then when your stuff arrives ask the local receiving agent company for the storage and redelivery to Van Island, as they may do it for you. Another way have it shipped to Vancouver then take it on the Ferry your self. Dont forget from Montreal all the containers come to Vancouver by train and arrive in Vancouver. This takes 7 days on train.

Good Luck Vancouver Island is my favourite place it is so beautiful. Have you ever been there?

We have friends in North Saanich but you don't seem to get as much house for your money there.
