Default Help needed - re: relocation to BC

Hi all,

I know that this question has probably been answered on the forum already but I’m after a more up to date opinion.
My husband has recently had a job offer from a company in Burnaby and will be starting in Sept, we have a young daugther, who is 3 years old, so we are looking for a nice family area with good private nurseries & schools to relocate to, can anyone please advise maybe areas around Burnaby of surrounding towns.

Thx for any advise in advance.

But they're not you.... .....some idea of what these areas have to offer might help, to provide some helpful information and context.

The question asked was areas so thats what I provided. Anyway I thought they might have the intelligence to do the rest of the research themselves.

My husband works in Burnaby and we live in the Port Moody area. You really need to come over and see what areas you like/can afford to live in.

The question asked for an opinion and an opinion was given what is wrong with that?

Pitt meadows, Maple Ridge, Port Moody are nice areas i know as i've visted them but as Rich says its personal choice.
Try searching on these areas for their own websites, i know maple/pitt has their own not sure on the others.

Answering a question like that is so difficult, to fill it with detail would make it too personal to the person answering the question and would detract away from what you all want as a family from your more to Canada.
I suggest you do what we did and take a trip over specifically to look at what areas you can get down on your short list.
I can PM you the details of a great Realtor in the Pitt/Maple area, who took the time to show us around at no expense to us (he was recommend by our friends in Pitt Meadows nothing to do with this forum)

Happy Hunting

Your right it is difficult to answer.
We have relatives in PM, but its out of our price range so we looked at MR, great place. We were also shown around by a realtor who showed us some lovely properties

Hi
I live in BC and have a daughter. We started off in Vancouver city area but when we visited a school the minority was 75% of kids had English as a second language(Mandarin). North Vancouver is really nice but expensive.
We decided to move further out for more Canadian schools Pitt Meadows is a good family area no rubbish here(a lot of Brits) easy commute to Burnaby about 40min. Coquitlam is closer. Maple ridge there is plenty for kids to do, clubs. Burnaby is like china town and downtown areas are Asian aswel.

Good Luck

I agree with you.. That where we moved to and are living. Easy to commute to Burnaby.
