Calm down, calm down. What has been posted does make some sense, but if you're not familiar with the process it can certainly be confusing.
For starters, the name of your husband's job that you supplied matches to "skill level C", but if there is a better, more precise or accurate description, he may have some other skill level. That is what you were told, not that anyone here has any special insight in to what your husband's job involves. Thanks again. |

I guess though when you have double, triple, quadruple checked the NOC code and people still tell you that they know the job description better than you, that is not helpful. I know visas are complicated as we do actually know people who work within the visa process. When your basically told every reason and way that you will not be allowed into Canada it can become annoying. Like I said we want to leave the UK and we have our own reasons for that people may not understand. We don't enjoy living in a country where you can sit on your bum all your life and not work while working people get heavily taxed to pay for that life. And before I get attacked for that statement the British benefit system is great if you need that help. However it is abused by most of the people who are on it, that actually don't want to work. .....
You might just want to ignore some responses entirely, that is your prerogative, and engage with those people who answer your questions. That said, everyone knows their stuff here, and they are therefore likely to tell you more or less the same thing, or at least very consistent things, perhaps phrased slightly differently. |

NOC codes can be an absolute nightmare and unfortunately you need to find one that best fits what your husband does. Note that the description and duties of the NOC code are more important than the actual title.
For example I work as a geotechnical engineer but there isn't a NOC code for. Depending how you interpret the duties I would be either a geological engineer (in the UK known as an engineering geologist) or a civil engineer. I use civil engineer. Note that I find the NOC codes extremely outdated especially in construction and engineering trades, i.e. you are unlikely to find an specialism i.e. the difference between a CFA piling operator vs a downhole hammer piling operator. The website is here: Quick Search - Results If he falls under the 7521 NOC code (which includes the titles pile driver winch operator pile-driving hammer operator) this would be a skill C code. If on the other hand his current duties and responsibilities fall under the 7302 Contractors and supervisors, heavy equipment operator crews NOC code he would be a B skill code. As stated above do not hung up on the titles it is all down to the responsibilities and duties associated with each NOC code. If you use the NOC codes website you can do some searching to find the right NOC code. |

I understand and I am inclined to agree with you, but this forum works best if you stick to immigration and visas in the immigration forum and take off-topic discussions to one of the "chat" forums, such as The Maple Leaf, or The Lounge. :)

It is difficult enough coming on forums like this as you do put yourself out there for people to just knock you down.
All I asked for was help not to be bashed ...the British benefit system is...abused by most of the people who are on it.... |
Re: Help need some Canadian advice.
I'm sorry I/some of us upset you by asking a question or two to try & clarify my/our understanding of your situation, & posting some comments/links that I/we thought *might* help.
Believe it or not, members here do actually try to help, mostly. I don't see any post that bashed you. Can we all take a deep breath & start over? |
Re: Help need some Canadian advice.
you seemed to missed out the part where I said the benefit system is a great system for people that need it. Many people do need it and use it properly. However like those lovely tv shows where people go on and proudly boast about abusing the benefit system and how they get paid for doing nothing. It does get abused by a lot of people. Your lucky if you have never seen anyone that does that I tend to see them every day.

I put this in the introduction forum and it got moved to this one, I actually have no idea what forum I am in. My bad I guess, just said they moved us to the Canada section. Thanks though I will go have a look at one of the chat forums.
The path is clickable, so if you click on "Living and Moving Abroad", you will see all the overseas forums, click on British Expats and you'll see all the forums. :) |

The "Canada" forum is for immigration, visas, and things related to "moving over". "The Maple Leaf" is for banter and chat. ..... look near the top left of the screen, there is the forum "path". It shows: "British Expats/ Living and Moving Abroad/ Canada" for the Canada forum. :)

Welcome, No one is saying you can't come, the posters who have responded have offered you helpful advice, but of course it's overwhelming and difficult to see when none of it makes any sense! To get the best out of the forum, it's usually easier to answer the questions asked, you might not see the point of them but they are generally being asked for a good reason. It's also best not to spoon feed information. Initially your husband's job sounded problematic but knowing that not many people around can do his skill helps. If you can figure out his NOC code as Engineer Abroad very helpfully pointed out, you might be a huge step forward in the whole process. People here generally want to help you succeed not hold you back. |

So breathing and starting over, if you don't mind me asking. How did you move to Canada? What kind of visa did you use? You don't have to reply I realize that may be an annoying question you get asked a lot. |

There are so many different posters on here, all using different ways to get here. It kind of doesn't matter what someone else used, it's what *you* can use to move here which is again what those previous posts relate to.
