My Husband and I are wanting to leave the UK, We are hoping to move to Canada. We have looked through the visa requirements and process of immigration. Just need advice from people who have moved to Canada for construction work, he is a piling rig operator. So any information on piling in Canada, or any construction work information would be extremely helpful. Any advice from people who have made the move would be great. Also we are looking to move within Ontario.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hello and welcome to the forum
I've shifted your post over from the Welcome Inn to the Canada section as your query is quite country specific. You'll be more likely to get response in here from the good folks already living in Canada.
Hope it all works out for you

You say you've looked in to immigration, but just checking you're aware that Ontario wouldn't be a province where you could apply for PR? And as you wouldn't be able to work, you couldn't use your job to apply for PR either. So fine if you just want to go temporarily, but it sounds like you're looking for a permanent move?
Good luck.

Thank for your information,
We have spent many months looking through different visas for many places.. However we have never seen that you can not work in Ontario if you move there. From what we have found, it looks as though we go over working, not PR and then you can apply to stay in Ontario. But we know we can not go over PR. When we have looked at express entry Ontario it has always been a place we could move too, as a family we have been approved for express entry. But we would not move somewhere that we couldn't work. I have looked through many posts on here where people have moved too and are working in Onatrio so just a little confused.
Could you please send me a link to this information as we can not find anything about this.
Thank you.

Only spouses of skilled temp work permit holders can work, and as an unskilled worker there would also be no way of applying for PR via EE in Ontario, as your husband wouldn't qualify for FSW, CEC or FST.
The only way to apply for PR as a piling rig operator would be to apply under the PNP of the province you're in, and Ontario doesn't have a low or semi-skilled stream.
So you wouldn't be eligible for a spousal open work permit, and to apply for PR you'd need to be somewhere other than Ontario.
So unless there is another route to a visa (i.e. your job) then only your husband could work and you'd need to move to a different province if you want to stay permanently. SK and MB are two provinces that spring to mind that allow semi-skilled people to apply for PR under their PNP's.

There are many different forms of piling in the UK I am guessing this is the same in Canada. We have checked the NOC codes before and he is skilled level B which I think puts him in skilled worker. I don't work in the UK I am a stay at home mummy, this will be the same in Canada until I can work, sorry I never stated that in 1st message. It would all be my husbands visa.
I know we may sound like we have no clue but we have spent nearly a year looking into moving out of UK. Ontario is not set for us we will move where my OH can get work. We really would like to talk to someone who has made the move before within construction. And someone with Piling experience in Canada would be great. We would appreciate any help or advice people can give us.
Thank you.

Ok, great. What's his NOC code? He'll need to be very specific to prove he does that job, as his actual job title is Skill Level C.
Does he score enough on the CRS to qualify without a job offer? Or does he need to get a job offer and LMIA first? If so it's good you're not fixed on ON, as there are only 26 jobs on Jobbank in the whole of Ontario, but hopefully it's an occupation in demand elsewhere.
Best of luck.

NOC codes can be an absolute nightmare and unfortunately you need to find one that best fits what your husband does. Note that the description and duties of the NOC code are more important than the actual title.
For example I work as a geotechnical engineer but there isn't a NOC code for. Depending how you interpret the duties I would be either a geological engineer (in the UK known as an engineering geologist) or a civil engineer. I use civil engineer.
Note that I find the NOC codes extremely outdated especially in construction and engineering trades, i.e. you are unlikely to find an specialism i.e. the difference between a CFA piling operator vs a downhole hammer piling operator. The website is here: Quick Search - Results
If he falls under the 7521 NOC code (which includes the titles pile driver winch operator
pile-driving hammer operator) this would be a skill C code. If on the other hand his current duties and responsibilities fall under the 7302 Contractors and supervisors, heavy equipment operator crews NOC code he would be a B skill code.
As stated above do not hung up on the titles it is all down to the responsibilities and duties associated with each NOC code.
If you use the NOC codes website you can do some searching to find the right NOC code.

He would need to find an employer willing to go through the LMIA process, pay the $$$ & wait for approval to come through.
I assume you've seen/read all this:
Hire a temporary foreign worker | ESDC
*If* husband found a job, & the employer got an LMIA, & if said job were to be NOC level B, he/you (plural) could then apply for PR via EE.
I know I'm stating the obvious, but I'm sure you're realizing that LMIAs are rather difficult to come by nowadays. Do you have any contacts in the industry in Canada? Have you visited Canada already?

I'm sorry but you seem to be very confused, you have spent the most of this day trying to tell me I'm wrong. You can just stop posting and leave saying we will never make it. That is fine if you read my post again I asked for advice from people in construction does this apply to you? And also how do you know why my husband does and what his job description is to be positive he is skill level C. If you so positive on this can you tell me his job description please. He is one of only a hand full of people on the uk/ world that does the job he does.
You 1st told us we could not work in Ontario then changed your mind and also changed your mind of whether we could be PR. Now you know my husband skill level without actually know why he even does. Basically all the people who have left UK for Canada must have been smuggled over border as you state it as impossible. But like I have seen on here many of times there are UK nationals living in Canada. I have told you what I know I don't think I need to hear anymore of your "advice". I don't think you like helping much, just attacking people, I'm sure there are other people you can go and annoy today.
Thank you so much for all you "help" but I really could do with talking to people that actually can tell me something helpful. Yes we have contacts but how that is any of your business I have no idea I think you rate yourself a little too highly. Like I said I came here to ask advice from people who want to help. Judging from what you have written you never actually wanted to help. Like I said I take it in your eyes that we will never make it to Canada, that's your opinion and that's ok. But I don't think we need anymore of your "help" as I never actually asked for help with visa just advice from people in construction/piling
Thank you
Any actual help and advice would be greatly received.

I agree. You post a simple question and instead of being told what exactly you want to hear, you get people asking you to double check your NOC code and other things that are completely irrelevant to the immigration process.
I'm not in construction, but I reckon that people doing what your husband does will have a great life here, with a nice big house and opportunities for their kids that they couldn't get in the UK.

Calm down, calm down. What has been posted does make some sense, but if you're not familiar with the process it can certainly be confusing.
For starters, the name of your husband's job that you supplied matches to "skill level C", but if there is a better, more precise or accurate description, he may have some other skill level. That is what you were told, not that anyone here has any special insight in to what your husband's job involves.

When you change, or add to your information provided, others may change what they say, as you have perhaps enlarged upon your situation and perhaps this changes things. When you are not clear on your own situation, which is how it appears to me, I fail to see how others can be.
End of the day it matters no to anyone on here whether you make a go of it or not. For the most part folks try to be helpful.
