Oh also decent brand of olive oil, I presuming the normal european brands would be overly expensive.

Any chance someone could help me out and give me a few recommendations?

Cheers

As Piff Poff said about Tetley Tea bags.

Don't know if you have a 'Save on Foods' in Vancouver, but here in Red Deer they have started to sell Red Leicester, Double Gloucester and Lancashire cheese. I did get a block of british mature 'white' cheddar from Canadian Superstore and Cost co, a while ago, but not seen it in store for a while.

No Frills also has some custard creams, bourbons and shortcake biscuits- imported from UK.

Sorry if it doesn't help you in BC.

Probably. I just don't like large supermarkets and would do anything possible to avoid them (in any country). In Vancouver I used to shop at Stongs which was just about the perfect size and experience. Not sure what its like now of course.

Best for cheese and salami/ham type meets and obviously Italian food by far is Bosa Foods. Big store is at Boundary and 1st and original on Victoria Drive.

Sometime in the last few months Sobeys (and presumably some other mainstream grocery stores) has started stocking Yorkshire (and Yorkshire Gold) tea in large quantities. Bag and leaf. And at very good prices.

In Ontario at least ...

You can buy Yorkshire tea in Alberta too, and it's very nice.

Big Box is the future!

The days of high streets run by the local Masons lodge are long over.

It was the "free market" what done it.....

I used to do their ads for Van newspapers.

We've got a Frescos round here. Makes me giggle every time and expect to bump into Curly Watts.
