my student visa will expired on Oct 30, as well as my visitor visa.
who can tell me how long it will take if i send my files to renew my visa. i am very worried about my visitor visa, because my visitor visa may expired before i get new student visa.
moreover, how much money i should have to prove that i have enough money to live in Canada at least one or two years?
thx...

So you have to apply at least 30 days in advance no sooner than 90, so you should be
applying now. Proof of funds available to support you during the first year of your
studies. In general, $10,000 CAD is required in addition to tuition fees for one
year. (from New York Site)

Read the Guide IMM 5217 http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/guides/5217E.PDF
Clearly states that , if you applied 30 days before the current status expired, you
can stay in the country till your application is finalized. So apply ASAP, and you
should be fine.

There is a new requirement for an extension besides showing that you have been
accepted by an institute and that is a copy of the transcripts of your marks from
the last school year. This is being done to rpove you are actually in attendance
at school.

Thank you very much! i am very happy to see that many people are warmhearted to help me.
But i dont know what's this sentence mean
"In general, $10,000 CAD is required in addition to tuition fees for one
year."
you mean I should have 10,000 CAD + tuition fees for one year. that means i must have more than 10,000 CAD in my bank account?
I already paid tuition fees for this semester.
