Re: Help - how do Torrents work and what do I need to use them?
A bit of advice if you are using the box - They are very strict on ratios so rather than just bounce right in and take full series etc - Download some of the freebies as soon as they come up and leave them alone until people stop downloading from you ( The freebies dont cost you any download ratio but help towards your upload ratio) All the soap operas are freebies so watch when they come out and jump straight on them

You may want to download another little program to run with utorrent, called PeerGardian.
Some media businesses interested in maintaining their copyright pretend to be peers and then monitor/note your IP address, PeerGardian regularly updates itself with 'their' IP addresses and blocks them. Normally they are only interested in the big fish who download lots and lots, but you can never be too careful. |

Its best to keep to the private sites as anything thats not 'quite right' is thrown out pretty quickly
For movies I use Pirates Of The UK but I dont think they have invites open just now unless you make a sizeable donation to them - Have never downloaded anything untoward on this site always found it very helpful British tv I use the box.bz - Very good site for all british tv - I have downloaded some good stuff from there . I read a thread on here somewhere about a lot of complaints that people were being kicked off and banned . If you keep your ratio at around 1:1 you shouldnt have any problems For British sports (or any sports for that matter) I usually watch live streams - I use the-streaming-lounge.co.uk - you have to do a 2 minute registration but its very good site that has basically anything that is being broadcast somewhere - They sometimes ask for you to make a couple of posts in the forum to open up the streaming links |

very very fast .. and much better than uknova , usualy has the show just after its been on the in the UK or where ever in the world .. and you can be watching it in mins We also use vuse to get the torrents and as a torrent search engine kinda thing Also use VCL media player and a normal monitor cable between laptop and TV so can watch it all on the box.. We were idiots on this at first .. But we just followed an idiot guide off a torrent site and went from there .... Ive been banned from so many sites due to low ratio - v frustrating. You leave them seeding but it never seems to be enough to bring the ratio back up. Speed CD and Supreme-Seeds are good at the moment. Axxo's are the best for movies. |

Sorry for my ignorance, but does that mean I can watch stuff through my PS3? On another note, does anyone know how to set up a PS3 through a surround sound system, as blue rays with just telly speakers are ruined. (or should I start another thread on PS3s)
Cheers. (I bought it for the kids really ;)) |

When you first set Vuze up it will run you through everything, all you need to do is set it up as a place on your network, you'll have the option to introduce it to the PS3, after that all you need to do is drag & drop the file onto the PS3 on the Vuze screen & you should be able to see it on the PS3 media screen on the TV..
