Well i am Canadian Star, so named because of my infatuation with the Kings Lynn speedway team whom i have supported since 1968.
I have lived in Victoria since 2003 and i only just discovered this site. I hope to learn a lot about other peoples experiences since they moved to Canada, hopefully some of you might live in the Victoria area, and perhaps we might arrange a British Night in the future!
I am 45 years old and live here with my wife Elaine and two sons John 16 and David 14, life is good

Hello, Canadian Star, and welcome to the BE forum.
Yes, some of the BE contingent do live in Victoria and in other parts of Vancouver Island.
BE members in the Fraser Valley, BC and in Fredericton, NB have monthly meet ups.
In other parts of Canada, the get togethers tend to be more sporadic. Sometimes the motivation for a gathering is a recce trip that a given forum member is undertaking. An example is Cassie 10000's upcoming visit to Calgary and Edmonton.
I know that there have been gatherings in Victoria in the past, but my understanding is that they have belonged to the sporadic category.
I want to move to Victoria myself. When that happens, I'd be more than happy to participate in meet ups.
I'm not British. I grew up in Swaziland, a small country between South Africa and Mozambique. But I've been in Calgary for all but four of the last 31 years. Since I'm not British, I suffer from BHDS (British Humour Deficiency Syndrome), but I'm working on it.

We would be happy to have a "get-together" at our place during the Summer. We live in Cobble Hill in the Cowichan Valley so halfway between Victoria and Nanaimo. Perhaps people would like to suggest dates and then we can find a date to suit.
