Hello, I'm Mike, and I'm thinking of moving to Canada!
Your "read me" thing was very helpful, and between that and the Canadian immigration people's website, I think I have a to-do list for my wife and I to get to Canada.
Could you read it through and tell me if I'm missing anything?
I'm assuming the best thing would be for my wife and I to go through similar processes separately. For info, we both have Bachelor's degrees (hers is Human Sciences, mine is Adult Nursing). I'm a registered nurse and my wife is a charity case-worker (social work, basically). We own a house with a mortgage, and our net worth is about £50,000 (CA$90,000) if we were to sell up right now.
So here's the plan as I see it - Feel free to rip this to shreds!
1) Visit Canada, specifically Nova Scotia (our preferred destination), see as much of it as possible, talk to people who live there, find out if we really want to settle there and where.
2) Get our language skills assessed (we're both bilingual in English and French to some degree, though my French is rusty).
2) Get our education assessed and certified for Canadian standards. In my case, also get my nursing qualifications assessed and sit the exam for Nova Scotia nursing registration ASAP.
3) Apply through the FSWP; not sure whether to get a job offer in place first or go through the Nova Scotia provincial program for this bit.
4) Get permits.
5) Sell up.
6) Move.
7) Buy a house in NS.
8) Live happily ever after.
How realistic is this plan? How many steps am I missing?

Sounds perfect, although depending on when you're visiting you might need a Plan B as the whole FSW program is changing in January.
Also you mention job offer or PNP, but you seem to be musing up the PNP and FSW so you might need to read up on the three different routes again.
HTH, good luck.
