Hi Emma,

I'm new to all this too, we are hoping to get all the paperwork for the start of PR process underway this month.

I'm also studying with the OU and hoping the (Hons) Degree in ICT is recognised in Canada. I'm cramming four years of courses into two, to try and get degree by 2009! Must be mad!! I think this will only give me 2 extra points, but here's hoping that it helps!

What are you studying?

Best of luck with every thing.

Jilly

Hello Eldoran family

We're newish to this site, although I've been popping in to read bits for quite a while.

We're in between Lichfield and Burton - so pretty close too.

My OH's just started the 2nd year of his degree, we're adopting a child and trying to do up the house to sell, and have got everything crossed in the hope that all the timings come together ready to move out to Ontario...well, we live in hope

Our application's been in 2 years and that's flown by...

Best of luck to you all

Maggie

Hi Jilly
I'm working towards a BSc hons in Health & Social Care - am currently studying Human Biology which will get me up to 150 credits... only another 210 to go!!!

Re: the immigration process - We've been reading everything we can and taking advice off people who've been through it. We're currently contemplating trying to get a job then going over on a work permit whilst the pr application is being processed.... i think!!

Hi Maggie

You are close to us - we live in Norton Canes - so just down the road!
It certainly sounds like you have your hands full! I thought that my life was hectic!!

I'm so excited about emigrating that I'm becoming a bit of a 'Anything to do with Canada' bore. My mom was telling me about my sister's wedding cake and how it's got snowflakes on it..... instant link to Canada in my mind so I had to alter the conversation to the documented chances of a white christmas in NS!!! I'm just hoping that we can put the paperwork in and then forget about it (slim chance!) - although we're going to try the work permit route, i think - but not until next year. It's difficult trying to time things when kids are involved - i.e. trying to have the least impact on their education by a complete change in everything!

Speak to you soon
Emma x
