Hello - moving to Ottawa
Hi all I am an expat living in Quebec but moving to Ottawa ASAP due to my lack of employment opportunities here and also my hatred of all these huge soon to be snow filled pot-holes ruining my poor car.
anyone have advice for expats moving to the Ottawa area.

Be prepared for more potholes.
Ottawa is nice and has a lot of historical stuff but it is pretty boring. It makes me realise why many North Americans idealise Europe for its culture and history.
OHIP waiting lists will crush your soul and non-government jobs are rare. The housing market is Very Bad too.
