Default Hello from Glasgow, UK

Hey all,

I've been thinking about moving out to Canada on and off for the last 6 years.

We spent 3 weeks this summer in British Columbia and Alberta which was really good.

I'm now seriously thinking about starting an Skilled worker application, but need to do a bit of research. I'm sure I'll come up with loads of questions.

Is there anyone else around the central Scotland in a similar position?

Thanks

Thanks for all the replies, good to know there is lots of people in a similar situation.

For the people moving out soon, have you had much luck getting a job before moving out? or do you plan to get work once you are there?

Hi Neilt, We are moving out to Toronto 2nd week January (From just outside Glasgow), putting feelers out just now for jobs (Companies dont seem to want to know until you have your PR/Visa) so we have left the employment until the last moment until the paperwork was through. Its been a long road however we are hoping it will be worth it.

Greetings and salutations from Calgary,

Not from Scotland, but have been there quite a lot in the past. The Isles of Glencoe every christmas in the vain hope of snow.

Good Luck in your endeavors

Hi Thomas

What do you mean by the Isles of Glencoe? Isn't it a valley?

We used to visit it from time to time as we lived in Aviemore.

Welcome to BE -

Moved from Scone last August to Calgary - been a great year. I'm from London but lived in Scotland for 12 years and worked on Cadogan Street for 4, cops kept picking me up for some reason..... my wife is Scottish and unfortunately so are my kids..... The tempation to drive south when she went into labour was sooooo tempting......

Cheers

Dobbie
