Hi Guys,

I'm new to the site just to say hello to you all. I'm currently working in Dubai & have plans to move to Calgary in Aug 08. I'm British. I wonder what are the possibilities of me getting a job in Calgary? I work as an Accounts manager for a great marketing company. Their Head office in London. I have been in Finance field last 7 years.

How easy it is to get a job there upon arrival? Which recruitment agencies I need to contact? Any help would be much appreciated.

I know not about Canada, but as am considering options of Dubai v Canada why the move?
I have just been offered a finace position in Dubai so am wondering re your experience.

Hi and welcome to BE best to ask in the main forum and read the wiki pages at the top that will help a lot, no idea about finance managers sorry but read what you can then search the threads they may be something on there thats also at the top, good luck

Thank you. Even though I'm in Finanace field but the ideal job I'm looking for is more of a customer retention type of role with about 20% Finance side. Would love to get a job in a bank as an Account Manager or Customer Relationship Manager in Calgary. I will search the whole site today as its weekend for us in Dubai. :-)

The reson is my husband just got his PR for Canada. Which he had applied in 2005 before we got married. Its always his dream to settle down in Canada & I'm willing to support him.

Thats lovely. My OH is willing to support either way really, I am just in such a muddle as to where to start considering.

I have trawled this site, and have gotten myself into more of a muddle rather than getting anything near straight in my mind!

If you have a legal right to work in Canada then getting the kind of job you want in Calgary should not be a problem. Apart from the right to work, a pulse if the main requirement. Anything else is considered a bonus by most employers.
