Do tell us more......after potentially years of waiting, I'd be interested to know the reasoning if this is a genuine thread...alternatively, is there a black market in visas? Can't see any on Ebay....

i'm curious to know why you have said you are speechless, i presume you have checked out my post in the maple leaf forum. if so its just my wife and my opinion, at the end of the day i don't see any point in going to canada when i already have a negative opinion about so much,(not the people or the country/scenery). if you are not mentally prepared to emigrate before you leave the uk then you are probably not going to survive.

This experience just goes to show everyone how important it is to spend months and months on research before even applying. Searches on this forum cover just about every topic, and many that I hadn't even considered on my own.
I am not put off in the least but before we spend £££ I will carry on compiling and and reading of others experiences and opinions.
What a shame that the visa is going to waste.
Hope Australia has a cool spot for you.

thanks for the reply. it is a shame that a visa is going to waste cos if we get in oz we won't be going back to canada,(unless for a holiday). we did meet some brits in vancouver who were on working hol visas and would have loved the chance to emigrate.
i don't want anyone to think my wife and i are ungrateful people by not appreciating what we have, (in the visa), the chance of a better life, definately, canada is a fantastic place with friendly people but in our current occupations we would not see each other if we only got 2 weeks off a year, and in my job as i've already said the shift system i work at the moment,(its much the same in all fabrication jobs), runs you down physically and mentally, so the extra 2-3 weeks we would get in oz would give us a chance to re-charge our batteries and more importantly explore our new home.
ideally we would like to run our own bussiness but finances dictate that this would be really difficult,(+ we wouldn't really be sure what to go in to).
so hopefully its oz for us, its just a shame that canada has this situation because i will bet there is a lot of brits who would feel the same way.
