Hello!

Hi everyone
We're a London couple who've been in the process of immigrating to Canada for the last two years or so - never found this website until today!!! Obviously weren't looking hard enough...
We've just had our letter saying our visas are ready - in the meantime we've been living in Whistler, which in an ideal world is where we'd come and live, but which in reality is super expensive. So now the visas are ready we've got to think where we want to live. gulp
We love Vancouver, but maybe we'll go a little further afield and try somewhere in Alberta since the cost of living is so considerably lower.
Looking forward to being part of this forum and finally getting those visas in the passports

The Brits coming to Calgary are but a drop in the ocean compared to all the others, many from within Canada, who are relocating here!!
House prices have gone up about 35%. ... and wages ......
I heard a restaurant owner on the radio yesterday, saying he had to pay $15/hour for somebody to wash dishes here, where he paid $10 a year ago. Prices of everything are just going up accordingly! Businesses are going down cos they can't find staff, or not at a rate they can afford to pay them. It'll have to hit some sort of stop sometime!
