Keep the chin up.

My wife is currently trying to be reinstated with the college of Ontario from the UK and it's turning into a bit of a nightmare. Great that you have a job offer. Is it district or hospital based if you don't mind me asking?

What I mean to say with all this , is that you will have doubts and plenty of times you get cold feet, but whatever spurred you on to think of it in the first place, will always be there... the waht ifs dont go away.

I have 2 kids 6 and 8 and we have all lived with this "unsettled" feeling for years!! I grew up moving house and country my entire life .. its made me strong adventurous and brave... its a good thing and kids are soooooo resiliant they will surprise you and settle sooner than you will.

Hi there,

I was wondering if you could clear up a couple things about your post .

By 'Baccalaureate', do you mean Bachelor Degree? As Im aware Ontario require nurses to have this (my wife does)..
What equivalency papers did you sit, to make you 'eligible' for CRNE?

As far as I was aware to be registered with the nursing body in Ontario, and to sit the CRNE you first had to have Perm Residence? (Im sure it states this on their website...)

Hope you can help my confused little noggin!!

I've not read all the replies here relating to your post, but I agree with the comment above. Plus I may add that emmigrating is something which is far easier when younger and no children, obvious maybe, but whether you have children before or after you emmigrate I don't think it makes much difference if you have close family and a good social circle in the UK, because either way you will miss them dearly. I think it depends on how much you want something. I first visited Canada, Vancouver to be precise back in 1996....I absolutely loved it! I always said to myself "one day i'll come back here for a long period of time or to live". Nearly 10 years later I did for a year and loved it again! Whilst there I met my ex boyfriend, but I was subject to the 1 year visa regs so had to return home to the UK but I would have chosen to stay. Me and my ex continued our long distance relationship and I honestly thought there would be some way of me going back and us remaining together. That didn't happen, and I subsequently trained to be a nurse, now qualified. It's something I always wanted to do but in the back of my mind I knew it would help in venturing further afield to work. Although in a long-term relationship now, Canada still plays on my mind and I've been gathering PR application paperwork since last year for applying this year. Why am I telling you all this? Well, I think this is a good example of when you know its the right thing to do. When I was with my ex Canadian boyfriend, travelling back and forth, a dear friend once said to me 'i think you want Canada more than xxxxx'. It made me think, yes I did want to be with that person, but I wanted to return there for other reasons too. But I know if I were to have children that would make emmigrating a whole different ball-game. Don't let your heart rule your head. Good luck!
