Since emigrating to Canada back in 2005 we are now living in our 2nd location and now looking into our 3rd (and hopefully last!) Just out of interest we wondered how many of you are still happily living in the same area you emigrated to originally? With the great expanse that Canada is, it is so hard to get it right the first time, or so we found.
Thanks

Started off in Burlington ON - bit too busy for us being in the GTA, then OH got a job offer here in PEI 2 yrs ago - which was a bit too far in the opposite extreme. Now we are hoping to move to the Halifax area as we've fallen in love with it too after regular visits. Funnily enough Halifax was our first choice all those many moons ago but we weren't able to find work at that time. Picky aren't we

Started in Montreal in 1999 because OH's family were there (couldn't speak French oops) moved to Toronto as soon as we could afford to which took almost 2 years. Now moving back to Northern Ireland on July 13th.

Started in Edmonton and was transferred to Calgary.
Likely would not have moved otherwise.
Which do I now prefer? Calgary by a country mile.
So to answer the original question yes I was happy with my first choice but through circumstances I could not control I found some place I like even better.
I've also spent enough time on Vancouver Island over the years to realise that is definitely not the place for me.

Lasted 8 months in Fredericton. Then found out we had gone too far to the extreme of wanting a quiet existence, so moved to Halifax instead for a bit more hustle, job opportunities and civilization. Perfectly happy here.

Have lived in Calgary for all but 4 of the last 31 years. Now on my way to Victoria, BC. Fingers crossed.

We moved out in June 2005, we love where we moved to. We were lucky and hit jackpot 1st time. We do plan to move when we are older but for now we're home!
