Hand luggage with Air Canada
After the fall of Zoom we are now going to UK on Air Canada.
Has anyone flown recently with them from Toronto? Did they weigh your hand luggage?

Re: Hand luggage with Air Canada
When I flew out I had a Lufthansa flight from Sweden to Frankfurt and from there to Toronto. Neither place weighed my hand luggage.
The only time I have had that happen was with KLM and in Bristol, of all places.
Air Canada allows 2 pieces of handluggage at 10kg each.

I've not had my hand luggage weighed by Air Canada before but I've seen others get randomly spot-checked
That said - their allowance is generally a bit more generous that the charters. You're allowed one bag and one personal item (IE laptop) EACH 10 kg as hand luggage.... and two bags to a total weight of 23kg (50lbs) of checked luggage.

Flew London- Toronto-Ottawa-London.No hand luggage checked at all.
One suitcase was over on internal flight, very helpful check-in lady told us to go buy another suitcase and pay $25 extra for that rather than $100 excess baggage.Needed one anyway, bit embarrassing transferring smalls to other case in front of rest of passengers!

Also had that, both my and OH cases where over by just a 1 or 2 kg each (can’t remember exactly). Took air Canada some time for them to sort out adding another bag to our set as they had already issued bag tags. But where helpful.

They check the size rather than the weight, your carry on should fit into metal frames they have at check in. But having said that I think they only worry on a full flight, or if you piss them off.
