Default Halifax/Dartmouth Dining

It is Mrs Liftmans birthday next Sunday, and we will be in Nova Scotia for the big day.

Can anyone suggest a decent, but not ridiculous, restaurant for us to eat at?

I would normally take her to KFC or McDonalds, but this year she said she wanted to use real cutlery.

We were in Halifax a few weeks ago and can recommend the 44 North restaraunt in the Casino Nova Scotia Hotel. It has huge windows that overlook the harbour and the food/service is excellent. Very good cutlery too!!

You just bring your own cutlery! It's not forbidden to eat your hamburger with your own cutlery, eh?

Hi Richard

Salty's down on the harbourfront is really nice. Gorgeous seafood and not TOO expensive. My dh went to a steak restaurant with some work colleagues this week and he can highly recommend that one too. It's on Quinpool Road but I can't remember the name of it. I'll ask him if you are interested.

Hope to see you at Jo's BBQ!

didnt try the draft at mic mac beverage room, i must admit though i have got into Keiths India Pale Ale.. always liked Labatts and Molson..

Big leagues in cole harbor is also good for wings on a thursday.. went there before i flew back last week.. didnt have wings as i dont care for them that much, but the friends i went with had some and they are good, i am also informed the hot chicken caeser salad is good there as well...

Peddlers pub/inn at the corner of Akerley and Windmill i also enjoyed eating there... I think its called Finbars at sunnyside mall in Bedford is also a nice place to eat, but i also do like east side marios, and managed to visit the one downtown, and the one at mic mac mall, i have preiously been to the one at bayers lake as well...
