Another option may be to look elsewhere in Canada and see what options other Provinces provide to you.

Have you looked at the PNP programs in NS?

Their CIS may perhaps offer you something - I am not sure if there is an age limit to that though but it may be worth a look.

I cannot offer any advise. I just wanted to wish you good luck. I really hope that you are able to find a solution.

Fill the forms in as if she was your common law partner - an interesting suggestion. Do you think CHC would notice?

Oooh interesting...though perhaps they may look at OP's birth cert and notice some similarities between her Mother listed on there and her now Partner...

thanks for all ur posts, generally very helpfull.

I have my reasons for taking my mum with me. me and my mum are the only family either of us have, it is both of our dream to live in canada and also the job that i do would require me to work shift pattern and to be honest im not sure i would feel comfortable leaving my daughter with someone overnight while i worked. i dont do it here so therefore wud not feel different over there. i do not have a partner to have moral support from on such a big move and personally wud find it really hard on my own in a strange country so far from what im used on my own with a three year old. my mum took early retirement after advice from immigration agents and it was her wish to be principal childcare while i worked.
for some, maybe leaving parents behind is ok and im not dissing anyone who does but for me i cud not do it.

To those of u who have provided advice ty so much i may well ask for me if i can sort this dilemma out. am awaiting an email form the canadian embassey as we speak..fingers crossesd xx

You do realize that your mothers UK DSS pension will not be indexed if she moves permanently to Canada.

Hi

Whilst CI stream could be an option for the OP in terms of getting here I dont think it is going to make any difference in being able to get her mum here. The age limit is 57 for the principal applicant, and you can only include spouse, conjugal partner and dependents as part of your application not parents unfortunately, they have to be sponsored once PR is obtained.

Sorry to the OP that there doesnt seem to be any options to bring your mum permanantly on the initial move.

I was actually thinking of the Mum applying on her own, as the OH can apply under the skilled worker route.

Thanks, but according to HID, I've set the bar so low that Jacques Cousteau couldn't retrieve it.

I think that's called being an illegal immigrant mate and I'd definitely be careful about advocating it on here. :)

Could the mother effectively get in via an au pair-like route or is that dependent upon the sponsorship of a citizen?
