Grocery deilivery help.
Hi all just struggling a little with getting a grocery shop delivered to an Airbnb we will be staying in.
it’s in cochrane, AB 11th of October we will have to self isolate for 2 weeks and I’m trying people like Safeway, Walmart, save on foods and save on foods cochrane appear to do deliver but when I try to make and account or add items it appears to know my location then says unable to load page. How did everyone else do this during Covid. |
Re: Grocery deilivery help.
Do you mean it recognises where you are right now (not Cochrane) and therefore 'thinks' something is amiss? Maybe try with a VPN (to disguise that) just to get the account established?

Re: Grocery deilivery help.
Wal-Mart you need to use instacart if its available in that area.
Checking some postal codes on Save On website for Cochrane, some come up as being within the delivery zone, and some of the postal codes did not, so seems it will depend what postal code your in. As far as I know Safeway doesn't offer online anything shopping wise. |
Re: Grocery deilivery help.
Not sure if Sobey’s or Longo’s supermarkets are in your area. If so they are excellent as they do their own deliveries. The goods are taken direct from the warehouse, as opposed to InstaCart who use shoppers to go around the store. I will no longer use any store that uses InstaCart...the service we have had has been dreadful.

Hmmmm bit of a mare this is turning into the VPN worked well thanks. But no longos and there is a sobeys but it’s a liquor store only 😂😂. Safeway don’t deliver Walmart won’t deliver and Mrsgrocery.com look like a Calgary based firm. I might email them to check

Safeway is owned by Sobeys, BUT they do not do online shopping. You can shop in a Safeway and they will then deliver what you have personally bought but do not do the shopping for you. This is what Safeway has always done. But surely this is far too early to be ordering for October??? Could that be a reason for not getting a response? People here use Walmart, Canadian Superstore, or the local Western chain Supervalue. I don' know about Loblaw's or President's Choices stores |
Re: Grocery deilivery help.
It is definitely Too far in advance to be ordering for October but I’m trying to find who delivers to our Airbnb for our 2 week quarantine in cochrane. I’m just trying to find a supermarket then add food to the basket and then see if they deliver to the postcode for let’s say tomorrow or the next day or a week in advance I’ve tried a few options.
mans nothing as of yet I was just asking incase someone had used a service I hadn’t come across or could suggest something else. I will keep trying different things. |

Anyway. It seems your only options are private third party businesses offering grocery services up there. Expect to get hosed on fees and markups. https://www.spud.ca/catalogue/deliveryarea.cfm?lidmap=4 (Sunday deliveries only) https://www.nourishathome.ca/store |

Re: Grocery deilivery help.
We live in a village/small town and noone online will deliver but the local supermarkets have their own system. Try contacting them direct
Also find the local Facebook page. Someone may be happy to help you out and pick up and deliver your shopping |

Unless you know, then it is not clear how linked the stores are ............. and that usually means noticing the stores that carry the PC brands, including Shoppers Drug Mart! "Loblaws" trade under the following names .................. Loblaws, Zehrs, Your Independent Grocer, Provigo, Atlantic Superstore, Fortinos, Dominion, Independent City Market, Valu-mart, ARZ Bakery, Wholesale Club, T&T Supermarket, Real Canadian Liquorstore, Real Canadian Superstore, No Frills, Maxi, Extra Foods and Shoppers Drug Mart. Not all of them trade across Canada ............... I know that we have Loblaws, T&T, Real Canadian Superstore and Shoppers here in Vancouver, but there may be one or 2 more that I haven't come across |

Have you tried Save On Foods?

as JSmith posted ......... they trade under their separate names, at least here and in the Atlantic provinces.
