Got a job interview next week
#1
Many thanks to the people who sent me sites to check out for looking for jobs. I sent my CV to a company in PEI last week and today they called me and asked me for a telephone interview. I am so happy about this, I was really down the other week when my company informed me that they would not be able to do an inter-company transfer. :curse:
Been doing some reading and it looks a top place to live. Reminds me where I used to live when I lived with parents in the sticks... would be great for my kids. So here goes, FINGERS CROSSED for next tues at 12pm

PEI sounds like a lovely place to live, I've always fancied it so I'm sure it would be great.
Best of luck!

Nice 1 thanks chaps
. I'm trying not to get too excited as I've been let down in the past, but I really want this one. I love the luck of PEI.
..Of, it in Engineering btw

Interview went really well, they asked me to come over asap to have a look around the Facility and meet their management team. Just trying to find decent flights now

Congrats, that sounds very promising to me.
Are they paying for your flight to meet them though? Do make sure they do.
Best of luck, fingers crossed for you.

Nice 1 ta. They said they'd sort accomodation/car hire. I will need to sort the flight, but when I get there the'll give me a cheque for 50% of the flight costs for me and my wife - then if I take the job offer they'll refund the other 50%

Sorry for jumping in on this thread!! Is it usual practice for a company to provide flights, accomodation etc if they are interested in you working for them ? I just assumed it would be down to the applicant to fund these. Any advice would be gratefully received.

And Beccaj - certainly anybody that wanted to see hubby in Canada offered to pay flights, accommodation etc, so I'm assuming that's the norm. We didn't have anybody that we even had to ask to do it - a couple of them even offered to come over here to interview him!
After all, if they're prepared to go to the effort and cost of getting a TWP sorted for someone then a flight is a small price to pay to make sure they're as good as they sound in their resume!!

Edited to add: that all of them also offered to pay for another trip at a later date (if job was accepted) to check out housing, schools, etc, too.

Thank you for your reply. Do you wait for the company to offer this or do you ask them
the reason I ask is my hubby has a company that want him to go out to show them what he can do
(he drives diggers, and other heavy equipment). They have emailed a couple of times saying they are interested in him and when will he be in Canada but no mention on them paying for any flights
