Hello every one
After waiting almost 3 years, two days ago I got my passport from Buffalo with visa stamped on it , which is so great news, however when I checked the last day to enter canada It was the 31st of Dec. this year that means in10 days I have to get ready and sell my assets and finish what ever I started In the states for 13 years, I just found it abit not fair
over all I am so happy .........

...thanks for the luck... so many of us need it badly right now... waiting for more than 2 years also...
y dont u go over land at one of the borders... and come back to states to finalise your business there an come back to settle in canada after... once u were stamp your landed...
i guess they are trying to meet the quota for the year and not givin people much options... i wish they included me in that quota for 2003

That really stinks!! You may be able to enter Canada and then leave again just to keep the PR status while you sort out your belongings. *Of course, it takes a month or so to get your PR card which would allow you to come and go. This means that if after end of Dec you had to leave before the PR card has been received you would need to apply for a travel document as detailed below:*
5. Can I leave Canada during the application-processing period?
You can travel outside of Canada and use your IMM 1000 document as proof of your permanent resident status to re-enter Canada until December 30, 2003.
**If you are a permanent resident and are seeking to re-enter Canada without a PR card after this date, you will not be permitted to board your carrier.
You will then need to contact the nearest Canadian visa office to obtain a limited use travel document to re-enter Canada at a cost of $50 for each traveling permanent resident.**
